Using Research Insight
Research Insight is available to all faculty, staff and students. The software is installed in both Saunders Computer labs
(BML and BCL). If you wish to have Research Insight installed onto your Saunders computer, please contact Technical Support and we'll be happy to install it.
Research Insight is restricted to RIT faculty, staff and students only! No other users may use this software.
Attention Off Campus Users!!!
Research Insight is only available when on campus as the databases are located on Saunders servers. If you are off campus, you can still use Research Insight by using the RIT VPN Client first. Once connected via the RIT VPN Client, you can then use Research Insight from off campus.
Loading Research Insight for the first time.
When you launch Research Insight for the first time, you will be prompted to copy over several support files. Click Yes to proceed.

You will then be prompted as to which files you would like to copy down. Leave the default settings to copy everything and click Copy Support Files to start the copy process. The files will take several minutes to copy down to your computer.

Once it has been completed, a dialog will appear stating the files have been copied. Click OK and the dialog will disappear and Research Insight will open.

Licensing Error
Should you receive the following licensing error, it means that the license failed to download.

You can have Research Insight manually download the license file by doing the following:
Open My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Research Insight.
Double-click on LicenseDownloader.
Click OK on the License Manager tool when it appears.
This will reinitiate the download of the license.

Once it is done, you should be able to open Research Insight correctly.
