Welcome!
RIT VPN Client

The RIT VPN Client allows users to connect their computer to the RIT Network from anywhere in the world. It also encrypts any traffic sent from your computer back to RIT thereby provided an extra degree of projection. This is especially helpful when using Wireless.

Configuring VPN to launch prior to logon

It is possible to setup the RIT VPN Client to launch at the Windows logon screen so you are able to connect to RIT, using VPN, before authenticating with the RIT Servers. This eliminates the issue of expiring Kerberos Tickets when users are off campus.
ITS and COB Technical Support are working together to setup the VPN client so that when it is loaded prior to logon, your H: and P: drives map and connections to network printers are made. This will eliminate the need for the COB AD Login program.

RIT VPN Client Configuration Instructions:

Start by launching the RIT VPN Client. There should be an icon on your desktop.

Click on Advanced Mode under the Options menu.

Click on Windows Logon Properties under the Options menu.

Check both Enable start before logon and Disconnect VPN connection when logging off and then click OK.

That's it. Next time you reboot your computer and go to press Ctrl, Alt & Del to login, the RIT VPN Client will launch.
Use the RIT VPN Client to connect to the RIT Network before continuing to login.

If you have any questions or would like a demonstration of how this works, give Saunders Tech Support a call and we will be happy to help.
